Note: New federal ethnicity and race categories were implemented in the fall of 2010. However, this information was incomplete at the time of publication so previ-
ous categories were used. The federal IPEDS definition is used for reporting international faculty. Faculty with a visa type of permanent residents are not reported in
the non-resident alien category but with their ethnic group. In 2007-08, 105 faculty were moved from temporary to special appointments.
