Note: New federal ethnicity and race categories were implemented in the fall of 2010. The federal IPEDS definition is used for reporting international employees.
Employees with a visa type of permanent resident are not reported in the non-resident alien category but with their ethnic group. Part of the increase in Hispanic employees
may be due to the change in ethnic categories requiring all employees who are part Hispanic to be reported as Hispanic instead of with their other ethnic group. The addi-
tion of the Multi-Racial category may have decreased the number of employees reported in the Asian, Black and Native American categories. The addition of the Hawai-
ian/Pacific Islander category may have decreased the number of employees in the Asian category.
